  1. hi, This is my first year doing I&E so I just wanted to know what would be a good piece to do? I already had Morceau Symphonique lined up to be my piece but Im affraid it might be on the easy side. thanks
  2. Magic of Orlando will be having guard auditions during it's April camp. Check www.magicoforlando.org for more details.
  3. You are totaly right about the 1 1/2. I mentioned it only because my friend plays bass t-bone in our wind ensemble, but when he switched to a 51d for marching, he totally felt a change. Also I meant the 51D and the 52D, not the 51d two times.
  4. I have been playing baritone for three years now. The 12C and 6 1/2 are good begginers mouthpieces. But for the player who is trying to make his or her tone darker and deeper, I suggest the Schilke 51D,51D and if you want a tone darker than that get a Bach 1 1/2. Just remember that if you are switching from a small mouthpiece to a larger one, expect your range to be significantly reduced for a while until you build up your chops up to the mouthpiece's level.
  5. The thing with Yamahorns are that at first when you buy them, they are a pain(trust me, I know). But once you break in the valves, its smothe sailing, as long as you maintain them at least twice a week. At least they are lighter than the Dynastys.
  6. I must agree, Jupiter horn are Grade A Garbage. Whether marching or concert. I've personally never spent a whole season with one but I have heard horror stories of them going 30 cents sharp during a show and other stuff. For their concert horns, their student horns are great for a middle school program. But for a highschool, dont even consider them. Their professional model shows very little improvement over their intermidiate model.
  7. My personal favorite is Blue Juice. Miar probally remembers how stuburn those Yamaha's could be during marching season. Blue juice is proven to be better than your local brands. As for Fat Cat, Ive never even heard of that.
  8. I just started to play first this year, and at our first camp it was tough. But with enough practicing, your range and endurance will build up.
