  1. ... you dont even know so many things i want to say (and did say before i edited this)... but you know... its just not worth it.
  2. embarassed? certainly not. i'm suprised you think i should be. maybe you are forgetting that there were 3 other people that posted after me that either had no idea what it meant or thought it meant something else... i dont think it was obvious at all- and i'll stand by that. there are a great many things i could say that i would get, and my friends would get, and my colleages would get, but you would be left scratching your head... and dont confuse goofy with stupid, my friend. big difference.
  3. 1) troopers 2) spirit 3) phantom 4) cavies 5) bluecoats 6) pioneer 7) cadets 8) crossmen 9) Gmen 10) SCV 11) BD 12)southwind thats a prediction just because everyone is getting anti-predictions... WHAMMI hehe
  4. thats fair, so have any other corps in the top 12 besides bluecoats, cadets, and BD actually even RELEASED any actual show audio? yeah... so i mean... right off the bat, its a top 3 clip! and i mean.... if those are donuts, they are big chocolate covered cream filled donuts... which is ok with me... and i recall being a brass player that long notes are often difficult for an ensemble because of tone and pitch issues... i.e. whole notes can be done either really well, or not so great... and in this case i'd put these particular donuts on the side of "Really well" but thats crazy me... and hey guys... do you want some OJ with your CEREAL? GET IT? OJ.... CEREAL.... oh... well i dont either... i just made that up... night night!
  5. hmmm... inference #1) you think he's a police officer 2) you're saying he reminds you of homer simpson 3) you're just trying to be nice... i mean... who doesnt like donuts? no but seriously, in the context it seems like you disagree with the fact that he said he thought it was the cleanest clip of the off season... ? i'm strill trying to figure this out.. i mean... are people saying that these days, or did you just try to make that up on the spot? and you can have some... chilli with those... candy bars... (see i can do it too! hehe)
  6. "have some coffee with those donuts" call me out of touch... but i've never actually heard that used in conversation before- what exactly do the donuts stand for? I'm just lost.... i mean, you hit the big 2-4 and suddenly you're out of touch with the lingo! hehe
  7. so i posted a link to the clip on my blog because i enjoyed it so much... i just got a voice mail message from my dad, who is very heavily a phantom regiment and cavaliers fan... he had this to say: "hey son, i was just reading your blog and i went and listened to that clip.... and... wow... that is just really great. where can i get some more of that? It sounded so beautiful, i can't get enough of it. I've listened to it multiple times over since i've been here in my office at work... " he had some more positive things to say.... i just thought that was neat... it made me smile
  8. i absolutely love this clip- best clip of any corps in 2006. I've only seen the first 2 blue devils podcast thingies, so maybe they've put out some good stuff too? but this rocks my world... great great sound from the brass, very deep, extreemly well balanced and blended- just great... other than phantom, i am looking forward to this show the most in 2006... no joke i should also add that i've listened to this clip about...oh... 15 times... hehe :)
  9. i'm going BD 2004... that show has great staying power... i love the arrangements and i think it was all in all a very powerful and skillful show... didnt they get a perfect score in brass in semis?
  10. man... what is your deal? As soon as the words "bluecoats" and something postive appear in the same sentence you are ALWAYS 2 seconds away with some negative comment. I'm frankly tired of it. I mean... spirit 2003, boston 2003, Southwind 2000? you sit here and tell me how bluecoats 2005 isnt classic but those are? Just a month ago you chimed in on some topic praising the bluecoats with your infamous "the bluecoats should look up to the crossmen" comment... you post 2 weeks later that you predict the crossmen will swing back from 14th and take 8th place in 2006... you even later were quick to tell me that you could count on ONE FINGER the number of plays that the bluecaots and crown have got from your 2005 CDs.... your review of the bluecoats and crown from this past season is negative and bland, but when you get to corps 10-14 you are all praises ... i dont know where your marched or if you even did march (i'd guess crossmen)... but you need to get off the bluecoats, man... you just need to take a step back and consider that maybe they did deserve their placement last season, maybe they do deserve the respect they are getting, and maybe they do deserve to be on the classic countdown... this is the format DCI chose for making this production- classic has definitions that dont invlove oldness. you know why the bluecoats 2005 deserve to be on the classic countdown? because 7000 DCI fan voters decided that is should be... DCI isnt plotting against your personal preferences
  11. and the crossmen will get 8th just like your 2006 prediction says...
  12. i actually totally agree with the topic starter... i mean... sure, there is nothing WRONG at all with that... not in the least... but he has without a doubt been the most visual and stand-out single member of the DCI world for the last several years... i mean... maybe its just me... but when i just SEE this guy i wanna yell "VANGUARD!!"... like if i saw him on the street, i would probably do that (well not really but it would be funny)... but for real... not wrong, or bad i guess, just suprising, i mean... its not like he was just there for a couple of years or was like a lowly contra player such as myself... he was the DM!... i mean... dang...
  13. i'm just asking but, you really didnt dig the music? i mean thats cool, and i know there are several groups' music i cant get into... but i mean for like turning it way up in the car, or going for a jog, in 2005, the bluecoats really get me pumped up just listening to them... they had their best brass line in history and i think it shows? and the arrangements i thought were very powerful--- but again, really, to each his own, and thats just how i felt... its just interresting to me how we can listen to the same show and come away with very different impressions (assuming you have the CDs or the finals APD)... but its cool though, thats not a criticism at all, just my personal opinion... i would also add that the "not close to the one below them" statement... first of all its not that big of a spread at ALL on the sheets, and second of all.. i can count on 2 fingers how many time's i've played BD on the CDs, but it would take me 5-10 peoples worth of fingers to count for bluecoats... again, just my opinion
  14. i dont know if i would call that for finals, but i could certainly see them making a very strong push the first half of the season, and a strong push at the end to end up 4th pushing 3rd or barely 3rd... i could see it... you simply cannot look at the amazing talent of their staff and the additions they have made and really expect anything but marked forward progress... you thought 2005 was good (i did)... on paper, at least... 2006 is gonna be yet another step up... and you know... there aren't that many steps left from 5th to 3rd and they were within a point of cadets AND phantom at points this past season until later in the season and ended up 0.8 back from BD... so dreaming... i think not... overly optimistic? he might be guilty of that as we all are from time to time...
  15. SCV 87... atleast it sure seems like it from the recordings...
  16. i guess that makes me a traditional drum corps fan... go cavies
  17. the birth of the first new top 4 corps since star in 1990
  18. I'm interrested in what star's 1992 show was like... i just downloaded the APD from DCI and its pretty awesome... the depth and richness of the brass line is incredible... some extreemly impressive technial parts as well as many powerful segments... i'm loving it as a contra player... dang... the depth and balance of this hornline is blowing me away... dang
  19. maybe George would like to chime in here and clear this up for us?
  20. 13 contas at the january camp? NICE... i like it...
  21. so true... i'm really looking forward to this season!
