Southwind still has a few spots available for talented, dedicated performers that are interested. We have openings in the following sections/instruments: Mellophone (1) Baritone (2) Tuba (1) Color Guard (3) Filling these positions would fill out the corps at 135. Please email mike@southwind.org or call the corps office 859-268-5244 if you are interested. FYI - percussion and color guard moved in May 20th, brass moves in May 25th. We are VERY excited about our 2007 program, InTheLoop. I hope everyone enjoys seeing our corps this summer. Chronology of events: Scott Stewart is fired by MDBCA BOD (August 2002) [scott was Executive Director of the MDBCA AND Director of the Madison Scouts] Bob Wall hired as Exec Dir of the MDBCA (Fall 2002) Bob Wall hires Sal Salas as director of Madison Scouts (Fall 2002) Bob Wall is fired by MDBCA BOD (Fall 2003) Andy Davis named Exec Dir of MDBCA (late Summer/Fall 2003) Sal Salas named Exec Dir of MDBCA (I believe this was after the 2004 season?) Sal Salas names Cody Pileski as Madison Scouts Director (not sure of the exact timeline of this)

---------------------------- Clarification: 1-year appointed positions on the board are open to anyone, but are appointed by the board. To serve in a 3-year elected position, one must have served first in an appointed position.

The actual return rate from 2005 is about 66% (68 of 103 eligible). We also have 11 members returning from 2004 that did not march in 2005. In all we will have 79 Southwind veterans in the corps this for the 2006 season. Looking forward to it! Mike
