  1. Yes that's true. But the kin I'm referring to were the same one's who invaded England from France.
  2. Again a name please. I think I do know who they are but then again many wore uniforms that looked alike.
  3. If I'm not mistaken that looks like the old Woodbine Racetrack out on Kingston road in Scarborough.
  4. His kin also invaded the land of my forefathers (Sicily) back in the day.
  5. Paul, you are right, as I thought I had mentioned that this picture was from the VFW prelims back in 1966 in Roosevelt Stadium. By the way another congratulations on your recent marriage..
  6. Great picture from the "VWF Prelims" in Roosevelt Stadium 1966. I remember marching in that competition with the Chicago Royal-Airs.
  7. Or the sound of Tony Schlecta announcing from Chicago, Illinois the ROYAL-AIRS..... Take it away!
  8. Yes it is the Richmond Hawks of Richmond, California. Which is on the north side of San Francisco Bay. That was from the first year(1961) that I started marching in drum corps with the Delta Thunderbirds from Stockton, California. We competed many times with them back in the day.
  9. Not to forget the Chicago Royal-Air Reunion Corps 2002 full marching field show performance at DCI Championships in Madison and DCA Championships in Scranton in 2002, 2003 2004 and 2005.
  10. If it's who I think it is Mr. F.P. started his career by joining Ms Marian (Mickey) Vogt's (self started) St. Gregory the Great High School Drum and Bugle Corps in Chicago where she taught him to play Base Drum. Later when she went from the Ardennes Drum and Bugle Corps over to the Norwood Park Imperials to be their lead snare drummer she brought him and about a dozen or so other people into Norwood Park with her from her High School Drum and Bugle Corps. In later years he later changed corps and went over to the Chicago Vanguard.....
  11. In 2002 at the DCI Championships in Madison, Wisconsin the Chicago Royal-Airs Reunion Corps performed . Go to their website and you can probably find something or someone who can help you obtain a dvd, While your at it you might also ask about a dvd of when they performed in 2002, 2003 ,2004, and 2005 at the DCA Alumni Corps spectacular Show in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
  12. I remember a few years ago when I was marching with the Toronto Second Signals (Sigs) drum and bugle corps we were going down to Jamestown, New York for a performance and some of the guys who were traveling in cars were stopped at the border and not allowed across also because they were going to be playing with a drum corps that was being paid and they didn't have any permits to do so.
  13. It is with great sadness that I have just learned this morning that my good friend from my days of marching with Canadian corps Mr. Ted Brazier has made his transition. R.I.P. my old friend.
  14. I was marching with the Chicago Royal-Airs that year. Putting competition aside off the field the Vanguard and the Royal-Airs were like sister corps. I remember what a great shock it was when we learned of the tragedy. R.I.P. John.
  15. The name of the man in the Hamilton Fire Fighters Uniform is none other than Mr. Ted Brazier. And that being said it is with great sadness that I have learned just this morning of the passing of my old friend Mr. Ted Brazier. R.I.P.
  16. Yes Bugles across America is a great tribute to the Veterans organization. I just yesterday played taps, in their name, at the American Legion Memorial Day celebration locally here on the central coast in Guadalupe, California.
  17. Mickey (Vogt) Graeber tells me that she remembers being at that show with the Norwood Park Imperials. She had been the lead snare drummer with the corps for a number of years previously. The year before in 1956 they had won the American Legion State title over the Cavaliers and at the VFW Nationals in Dallas they had taken second place again over the Cavaliers with St. Vinnies taking home the first place trophy. She had marched all year up until the VFW Nationals in 1957 but when the VFW found out that her 21st birthday had been on March 20th of that year she was told that she could not compete in the VFW Nationals competition. She later joined the Chicago Royal-Airs Senior Exhibition Corps and marched the field shows and parades with them from 2004 through 2006 when they stopped doing their field shows. Then later in 2006 she joined the Anaheim Kingsmen (KAC) Alumni Corps. Her last year of marching in the field shows was with the Anaheim Kingsmen (KAC) Alumni Corps ending with their performance at the DCI Championships in the Rose Bowl and her last year of marching in parades was in 2008 with the Anaheim (KAC) Kingsmen in their Disneyland parade/concert in Jan. the San Francisco Renegades in the Chinese New Years day Parade in Feb. and then again with the Anaheim Kingsmen (KAC) Alumni Corps in the Anaheim Halloween Spooktacular Parade in Oct. Go Girl!
