I haven't marched Guard since 1986 (Final Analysis) and 1987 was the last time I went to a performance. Lately I have been viewing tons of stuff on You Tube and have fallen in love with guard all over again.

When did they turn up on the scene? Who designed their shows? What's it always all male? Where were they this year?
Will
Everybody Winter Guard turned into Northern Lights in 2000. I'm not really sure why they changed the name, though I believe when Everybody started to compete, they were under the Northern Lights Youth Foundation (or something like that) organization. I could be wrong though. From what I know, Chad Dugan was their designer for many years. They were promoted mid-season in 1995 from Independent Open class to Ind. World and made finals in IW in 1995. They were in IW finals every since, until 2006, which was their last season. In 2000, they came under the direction of Tracy Wooten, Joe Sowders, and others.... though these individuals may have already been there.. I'm not totally sure. The organizations website no longer works, so it's hard to give you the FULL history. If anyone has any more information on the Northern Lights/Everybody winter guards, please enlighten all of us! IMHO The best shows that the organization produced were the following: 1996 - Peacock show 1997 - Pure Fantasy 1999 - Island of ??? *can't remember the name* 2000 - The Profanation 2004-2006 The all male guards OH! No, the guard was not always all male. Only the last three seasons did they decide to field all male guards. Quite wonderful I think! Will
Forgot to mention that the guard folded due to funding/bingo, etc...
coastiemeg
"Island of the Sniggles" is the show you're looking for. I loved that show!! Northern Lights is actually my favorite guard of all time. I especially loved "This Is Your Life!" in 2001. "Chaos and Order" in 2002 was pretty good, too. "Shawshank Redemption" and "Imagine" made me cry. I was living in Hawaii the year of "Road to Perdition" so I missed it, but I'm sure it would have moved me just the same.
