They'll have the exercises you need to know posted sometime before the open house (the battery doesn't have actual music to audition on at the beginning, just exercises). I didn't stick with the battery long enough to know much more than that, but I don't think they cut anyone at the first camp. Keep coming back and show that you're committed, and I'd say you have a good shot at getting in. The most important thing the Raiders look for in any section is people that won't quit midway through the season. Oh, and I'm 16. 2007 was my rookie year. And I do plan to march again in '08. Yeah, I'm marching baritone again. I'm originally a sax player and thought I would have a bettter chance at bass drum than any other instrument (no offense, I know better now). But they needed horns, and insisted I was qualified because of my sax experience. Since there were too many people auditioning for battery and not enough for the hornline, I took the offer.
