Program Coordinator Blue Saints

The Blue Saints are pleased to announce that Mr Gareth Skipp has agreed take on the position of Visual Designer/Show Coordinator for the upcoming season , with the experience and knowledge that Gareth possesses the corps is looking to make great strides to improve their performance this year and carry forth with an entertaining production for the 08 season.

With a background and education in theater, dance and voice, Gareth has been designing and instructing marching programs for over 25 years. He has taught in Canada, Germany, Korea and the USA.

Gareth was the drill designer and caption head for Canadian Knights Drum Corps (1986 DCI Division II champions), Kingston Grenadiers Drum Corps (DCA finalist 1998-99), and the Kiwanis Kavaliers Drum & Bugle Corps who placed 14th place twice at DCI semi-finals (1996 and 1997).

Gareth was also the drill designer and caption head for the Rochester Patriots who won visual while placing second at the 2003 DCI Division II world championships. Show designer for the Starriders Drum Corps, Gareth helped them win the 2002, 2003 and 2004 DCG and German Open championships. He worked with the Capital Regiment (Columbus, OH) in 2004 and, more recently, he has been a member of the visual staff at the Bluecoats Drum & Bugle Corps.

Gareth was a writer and instructor for indoor percussion group Spirit Performing Youth Ensemble (SPYE) based in Toronto, a WGI Independent World class finalist from 1996 to 2001.

Currently the drill designer for a number of marching bands and drum corps in North America and Germany, Gareth is also a judge for marching band circuits in Michigan, New York and Indiana.
