The Hawthorne Caballeros will host our next Camp weekend on Saturday and Sunday, February 16th and 17th. This is a great opportunity to join or check out the Caballeros as we will have several new members joining the corps. Brass and Percussion will rehearse on Saturday, February 16th, 2008 from 9:00 am till 9:00 pm at Pequannock High School in Pequannock, NJ. (Click here for directions to Pequannock.) The full corps, including Color Guard will rehearse on Sunday, February 17th, 2008. The Brass and Percussion sections will rehearse from 9:00 am till 5:00 pm at Pequannock High School and the Color Guard will rehearse from 11:00 am till 5:00 pm at Washington Elementary School in Hawthorne, NJ (Click here for directions to Washington School). Join us as we continue to prepare the repertoire for our 2008 program – Sketches of Spain. This will be another amazing year for the Caballeros. The Staff, membership and fans will have a year to remember. INTERESTED IN JOINING THE HAWTHORNE CABALLEROS? The Caballeros are looking for members in all sections and support areas. If you are a percussionist, musician, dancer or color guard performer looking for a place to march, we would love to have you. Experience is helpful, but not necessary – we have a place for everyone. Why should you join the Caballeros? The members have the chance to learn and be taught by a world class staff of musicians and teachers including Dennis DeLucia as our show advisor and Dennis Argul, Gary Gill, James Riley, AJ Kise and Eric Robertshaw, to experience a commitment to excellence and develop a sense of personal responsibility, to celebrate the rewards of championship and competition, to have the opportunity to participate in the award winning caliber of the performance tradition of the Caballeros, to share the spirit and family attitude of the corps and finally – to just have fun and make friends that last a lifetime. You will work hard, play hard, perform your best – and never forget this experience. College Credits! Marching members can earn college and continuing education credits at the completion of a season. If you are looking for college credits or if you are a teacher looking for continuing education credits, a season with the Hawthorne Caballeros may qualify. We have been accredited by the American Council of Education (ACE) to help you earn valuable college credits. Check with a member of the staff for more information. About the Caballeros: The Hawthorne Caballeros rehearse mostly in Hawthorne, NJ and have members from all over the United States. We have transportation arrangements available and will work with you to provide local housing if you need it. The Hawthorne Caballeros, sponsored by American Legion Post #199 in Hawthorne, are in their 62nd season of competition and have amassed a remarkable host of records. They have won the DCA World Championship 9 times, the American Legion National Title 16 times, the National Dream Contest 17 times, and the New Jersey State American Legion Title 43 times. New members are welcome in all sections including colorguard, brass, percussion and support. Anyone who even thought a little about joining the Cabs...well...SHOULD COME TO THIS CAMP! I promise you wont regret it. I came in last year thinking ehh...Ill try it, probably wont like it....WELL A YEAR LATER AND I LOOOOOVE IT. I finally found my place to be, and thats HAWTHORNE! BE AT THIS CAMP!
