DMCK
Weekend Re-cap The Fusion Drum and Bugle "Core" held the first of two February camps this weekend at Rahway High School. In spite of the fact that the Pocono Mountain van didn't run due to a pretty bad snow storm, the turn out was great and the members were hungry for both hard work and the delicious "Thanksgiving Dinner" lunch that our support staff provided. The brass and percussion sections learned the "hot off the presses" intro to the show, entitled "Kinetic Energy," while the color guard was hard at work in the auditorium. This is going to be an energetic and exciting start to the 08 program "MOMENTUM"! After visual rehearsal and sectionals, the brass, battery, and our large pit got together to ensemble both "Kinetic" and "Fractal Speak". This corps generates a lot of sound and energy! Upcoming Events Fusion will once again convene on Saturday, February 23rd from 10am-4pm at Rahway High School. This is a perfect camp to attend if you're new and interested in checking out the corps. The brass will be receiving a portion of this year's closer, "Ride," the percussion will begin work on "Today is the Gift," and our ever growing color guard will continue with the winter body and equipment program. Come on out, see what we're about, and join the FUSION REVOLUTION! Later that evening, the corps will be hosting a fundraiser dinner/dance to raise money for new uniforms! There will be a live band, fabulous food, and a great time benefiting a great cause. For more information, visit http://fusioncorenj.homestead.com/Uniformfundraiser.html. We hope to see you there!!! Corps Openings At this point, the corps is still accepting members in all sections, however we are specifically looking for a few good men and/or women in the following area(s): Tenor Drummers - Got chops? Want better chops? Be a rock star and come check us out. We're looking for one special someone to fill out our drum line and join us on our quest for maximum awesome. Drum Majors - Fusion will be employing 3 drum majors this season; 2 full time conductors and a marching member who will assist in drum major duties and responsibilities. Two of these three positions are vacant. Auditions will be held on March 9th, but materials for interested individuals will be passed out at our February 23rd camp. If you are interested, please contact Chris Kilian at fusionprogram@gmail.com right away! Baritone - Help us cure our insatiable desire for LOWness. We have a great low brass section so far....but I just can't get enough of that big, fat, luscious, low brass amazingness. You want to play this show. Come be a drum corps rock star. Again, if you don't fall into the 3 categories above, that doesn't mean you can't join! Come on out and jump in whatever section you like. Woodwind players are invited too! (of course, you won't be playing a woodwind instrument...but we'll get you going on brass if you have the desire!)

Hey all!!! Looking forward to a great dinner followed by a great time!! I know that the HOF I & E event is being held the same night and Im SURE that there will be some kind of festivities afterwards but, if after your festivities at the I & E show you can make time to drop in and have a beverage and make a donation to our uniform fund that would be great too. We're not far from Garfield. Hey, maybe you can even have a second chance at playing your piece of music again for a crowd. That'd be fun. Good luck to everyone at the I & Es. Unfortunately due to the dinner, Fusion will not be able to make it, but we hope to see you all in Connecticut!!!
