Cobybos
WGI has no age restriction on guards for the Independent World class only. If you have people over the age of 22, you have to go Independent World no matter what. For percussion, international groups have no age restriction. I am happy that domestic groups do have age restrictions.
CallipygianKing
Although organizationally not affiliated, I know a good number of Chops members were a part of the Twin Cities Area Independent drumline this season. They took 4th place in Independent Open in Dayton (.3 away from a bronze medal), marking a successful first appearance. They were barred from competing in any MN Percussion Association shows, an unfortunate circumstance... MN drumline fans missed out on a great local performing group at shows. Reilley
Alliance funds and runs the drumline Quest, and the same staff that teaches their guard also runs Aureus Independent. Both groups are pretty good. That is not entirely accurate. ALLIANCE and Quest enjoy a friendly partnership but we are two separate groups, each funded independently of the other. Some of the Quest staff are staff members at ALLIANCE, but not all. ALLIANCE provides some logistical support and use of equipment to Quest in exchange for use of front ensemble and instruction. There are members of Quest who march at ALLIANCE and make up the majority of the corps' percussion group. There are no plans to merge the two groups at this time. Lauren Harper does in fact run Aureus with her friend Tavius Cooper, but few of her members are with ALLIANCE (maybe two). Tavius is also on ALLIANCE staff in a limited capacity as he is on staff with an out-of-area junior corps. Can I ask who this is?

Gary Matczak
The White Sabers, Erie Thunderbirds and Lake Erie Regiment all have their hands in a colaberative effort called Presque Isle Percussion, a second year independant indoor drumline program that has been very successful, headed up by White Sabers percussion caption head, and Erie's own Ed Coleman V............and Lake Erie Regiment continues our longstanding winter guard program, that has just completed it's first year in the all-age World Class............ maestrogfd
GCS has a Winterguard that went, but I'm not sure of their ranking. GCS Winterguard repeat as TCGC Class A Independent Champions in 2008 They went on to place 42nd(?) overall @ WGI Nationals
