Shows in trouble?

Recommended Posts

What going on in Bloomington for finals may be a total mess.

On Tuesdays evening news, Racine, WI has been hit hard with flooding. That show is the 27th...

Will there be issues with that show site, as well as housing sites for corps.

How about Iowa shows as well?

The Racine Kilties show (The Kiltie Klassic) will be fine.

Historic Horlick Field has excellent water run off assets, beautiful natural turf, new seating, etc. The housing is fine also.

The Kilties are old pros on having it "all together" in presenting a drum corps show and making sure all things are tied together. The Lake Michigan gentle breezes tend to keep things more inland (weatherwise) the bulk of the time.

Check right HERE for show info.

As a side note, The Kilties are presenting TWO shows this season. The corps is also sponsoring a DCA-Central show (##SOUND EXPLOSION##) on Sunday afternoon (2PM), July 27th. Featuring Minnesota Brass, Govies, Chops, Lakeshoremen, Derby City Knights, Royal Airs and The Kilties. It will be held at Hammes Field at Case High School (right off the interstate), all general admission at $10.

Full information, online ticket sales, ticket outlet locations, etc will be at The Kilties website by July 1st.

So keep an eye out for that info!!

Like Bill said, Horlick Field was not affected by the flooding of the Mighty Root River and none of the schools that we are using to house the corps have been affected. The Root River crested last night at 11 feet above it's normal level, flooding significant portions of the city that are near the river. Don't expect to do any golfing while you're in town though. Johnson's Park, Shoops Park, Washington Park, Racine County Club and Meadowbrook Country Club golf courses are all under water. There's a picture on the front page of the Racine Journal Times today of a jet skiier tearing it up in someones back yard. The good news is that right now, the river is only 7.5 feet above it's normal level and receding.
