vferrera
I am in for the Annual Midwest Alumni "Combine." What would we call it? Corps-Jam? Combine 2 and a half? Alumni-palooza?

DBYoung
What would we call it?Corps-Jam? Combine 2 and a half? Alumni-palooza? Not sure what we would call it, but I bet we wouldn't have any trouble lining up sponsors: Viagra, Cealis, Depends, Ensure, AARP, etc..... funcorpsagain
Many cliche's have been bantered about this year; "do it for our brothers before, after, and now" (70's DM Roger Rousell), "don't settle for great, be awesome" (dear friend, Jeff Fiedler), "Time isn't just a magazine" (Jim Campbell - stoking discipline in a rehearsal), and my favorite and a CAC mantra, "just don't suck"! This has been an exciting experience to pay tribute to our founder, Don Warren, and the thousands of people whom have marched or supported us through the years. While we are looking back briefly, the goal is really to assure the corps has the means to keep moving forward!Splooie I think some of the wording may have changed...(!) GGarrett
Not sure what we would call it, but I bet we wouldn't have any trouble lining up sponsors: Viagra, Cealis, Depends, Ensure, AARP, etc..... Miller Brewing... ACE bandages... Tiger Balm & Icy Hot... Carmex... Rolaids... Coppertone... RayBans. As for a name... well I liked one that was dubbed on us: Beer Gut Brigade Edited July 20, 2008 by GGarrett
parkbench
I think some of the wording may have changed...(!) Had to keep it clean ... if that's what you're referring to, Rick :) although I admit age may have scrambled some of the memory cells for exact quotations. JayM
"don't settle for great, be awesome" (dear friend, Jeff Fiedler) I think some of the wording may have changed...(!) Yes. This one in particular was shorter and more cleverly worded, and the term was "astounding", not "awesome" or "outstanding" as it is sometimes misquoted. Good times. Gray3
The best for me, even though I never got to hear it from Jeff personally, was the "Zip up...., gentlemen." quote.
vferrera
"Toughen up, buttercup" I wish I could use that line at work.
