City Sound's 1st audition a great success!

Recommended Posts

This past Sunday, November 23rd, City Sound Drum & Bugle Corps held an audition/clinic in the Los Angeles area. The turnout was well beyond our expectations, especially in the percussion area. Several eager and very qualified young people spent the day auditioning and rehearsing.

The percussion people did an outstanding job and were all invited back.

The brass people also worked very hard and performed well. We had several young ladies audition for the Color Guard and it was great to see how quickly they learned and "jelled" together as a group.

It was great to also have several vets come and help.

A huge thank you to all of our staff and guest instructors who made this a very rewarding day, not only for us, but especially for those young people who benefitted from this worthwhile audition and clinic.

*City Sound will gather for their second audition/clinic on December 14th at Washington High School in Los Angeles, CA, and will continue the audition process for all three sections. Guard members are welcome to audition via video submission through the winter. In addition, at the December camp, the corps will be learning over 2:30 minutes of this year’s show material.

Questions about auditions should be directed to Nathaniel Lewis at nlewis@city-sound.org, by telephone at (323) 228-7231, or by visiting us on the web at www.city-sound.org or http://www.myspace.com/citysoundcorp.

That's fantastic! It's going to be exciting to see you guys in action this year! Are you planning to go to finals?

And just one question out of curiosity. How do you have vets if the corps has never fielded yet? Are you talking about SoCal Dream vets?

No, no finals for us right now. We are in the building process so we are staying local for now.

City Sound has been an independent Open Class drum line in the Los Angeles area since 1997; so we have plenty of "Vets". We did get help from So Cal Dream also. Mike Nash, the President of the Dream Association of Southern California, was on hand as well as other present and former So Cal Dream Members.
