OdeToArsenal47
After auditions this weekend for both The Cosmonauts and The Patriots, all auditionees have been notified of their status with their corps: They made the cut, or they're offered a spot on Human Wave Regiment. With all members having returned their decisions back to their respective corps, Cold War Productions is pleased to begin announcing programs and membership for Season XII. Today, The Cosmonauts will go first and announce their program for Season XII. On Saturday, The Patriots will announce their program. On Sunday, both corps will come together to announce the program for Human Wave Regiment. With that said, it's time to discuss the plans of The Cosmonauts! With pleasure, I'd like to unveil Season XII for The Cosmonauts... The Count of Monte Cristo, Featuring Muse Follow The Cosmonauts as they chronicle the tale of a young Edmond Dantes and his quest for revenge. Follow him through life all around 19th Century France with the array of beautiful scenery and props used on field. Be aurally awed by the musical stylings of British rock group Muse, featuring selections from their Double Platinum album, Black Holes and Revelations, with beautiful chorales, dance anthems and energy-throbbing fanfares. Be visually awed with swordfights, love stories and justice. Be amazed by the technicality and skill of these 150 musicians, in a quest to show you the wonder of one of the greatest stories ever told. Electronics will be used. Intricate and beautiful sets will be set up. This program will be a presentation like none other. *** After auditions, instrumentation is as follows: Drum Majors 1 Associate Drum Major 1 Executive Drum Major Hornline 80 Total 16 Contrabasses 15 Baritones 5 Euphoniums (Serving as Section Leaders to the Baritones) 22 Mellophones 22 Trumpets Battery 18 Total 5 Snares 5 Basses 3 Tenors 5 Cymbals Front Ensemble 15 Members, playing percussion instruments and handling electronics. Color Guard 35 Members, all of which are talented on sabers and flags and will be handling theatrical duties with the hornline. *** For Season XII, The Cosmonauts will be modifying their uniform. This will be the uniform used by The Cosmonauts. The uniform is designed with a mimimalistic, postmodern feel, using the logo in a completely different way. *** Thank you for reading, and get ready for June. OdeToArsenal47
Thanks to Star Org for making this logo. It is Saturday, and it is now time for The Patriots. With much pleasure, I'd like to announce the Season XII program for The Patriots... Autumn Thunder: The Sounds of Football DOWN. SET. DUP DUP DUP DUP! Get ready for this fan-favorite of a show, as The Patriots take you through the archives of Sam Spence's classics and deliver a show that exemplifies the power, the strength, the beauty, the finesse, the history, the greatness that is football. This show will appeal to all fans. The oldies will be pleased by the traditional music, the lack of electronics, and the overall pureness of the program. The kids will be pleased with the visually astounding array of drill that goes with the wall-shattering volume. The casual listener will be awed by the skill and expertise of these few. Color guard fans will enjoy the entertaining theatrical dance mixed in with technical flag and saber work. This show will be heralded as a classic for the years to come. Mvt. I: Fanfare for the Common Man, composed by Aaron Copeland Mvt. II: A New Game, composed by Tom Hedden Mvt. III: The Lineman/The Equalizer, both composed by Sam Spence Mvt. IV: Ramblin' Man From Gramblin' (Drum Solo), composed by Sam Spence Mvt. V: Salute To Courage, composed by Sam Spence Mvt. VI: Reunion In Canton, composed by Sam Spence *** For season XII, The Patriots are very pleased to announce that turn-out for auditions was great, and the corps will be fielding 128 members. This number was well over expectations, but nonetheless, the corps is gladly expanding. Instrumentation is as follows: Drum Majors 1 Executive Drum Major 1 Associate Drum Major Hornline *Note: The Patriots play on G Bugles 66 Members 12 Contrabasses 16 Baritones 4 Euphoniums (Senior Baritone Members) 14 Mellophones 20 Sopranos Battery 18 Members 6 Snare Drums 3 Quads 5 Bass Drums 4 Cymbals Front Ensemble 15 Members, all well versed on the range of percussion instruments Color Guard 27 Members, all equally versed on flags and sabers. The corps hopes that with these numbers, they can bring an unprecedented level of excitement and skill to the field. *** Finally, The Patriots are (for now!) are keeping with the uniform they used last year. The uniform is based loosely off of the uniform used by the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War. Consider it a modern restyling. That's all folks! Get ready for The Patriots this summer! And get ready for Human Wave Regiment's announcement tomorrow! I guess you could say it'll be..."all spaced out". hostrauser
Sam Spence wrote some great, memorable stuff. Didn't Avon High School do something similar to this a few years ago?
RockEuph
like the show reps, especially Patriots! where's the announcement for Human Wave Regiment? Edited March 23, 2009 by RockEuph
OdeToArsenal47
like the show reps, especially Patriots! where's the announcement for Human Wave Regiment? >_>... Well, we're all glad to be here for the final day of announcement weekend for Cold War Productions! Both corps are here and are proud to show support for their junior corps today. Human Wave Regiment has brought in almost all new blood for this summer, with the average age being 16.7! With everyone here, it is with pleasure to announce the Season XII program for Human Wave Regiment... Music of The Red Army Choir What many consider one of the greatest choirs of all time, the Alexandrov Ensemble, also known as The Red Army Choir, provided a face for the Soviet Union. The Red Army Choir instilled a feeling of nationalism for a country otherwise oppressed. The all-male choir performed everything from Russian Folk to traditional hymns. Even through the fall of the Soviet Union, the choir continued to perform and enchant the millions of listeners. It is undisputed that the Alexandrov Ensemble will go down in history as a "nicer" side to the Soviet Union. Mvt. I: The Red Army Is The Strongest Mvt. II: There March The Soldiers Mvt. III: Kalinka Mvt. IV: National Anthem of the Soviet Union Be sure to wear your red for this great show by Human Wave Regiment! *** Membership is not finalized until May, so figures will not be announced yet. Stay tuned! *** The uniform for this year has been greatly changed. Part of the redesign is to add to the visual aspect for the show, and part is to give the corps a newer, cleaner, grander look. Behold the uniform for Human Wave Regiment in Season XII! *** That's all for both Human Wave Regiment and Cold War Productions. Be sure to watch these great corps this summer, and stay sharp for updates from all three corps as the summer draws nearer. Thanks for reading!
