Chops Inc.
After purchasing our new set of Kings in 2007, we never got around to posting our old horns for sale. Well, here they are! All of them are in used but playable condition, with some tarnish, and they are still played on the rare occasions but not enough for us to justify keeping them. All were bought used from other corps in 1996 (mostly from Star of Indiana and the Cavaliers), with a few exceptions as noted, and all of them have hard cases except where noted. 4 King K90 Contrabasses, 2-valve, listed at $750 a piece (one at $700 because of a cracked valve casing). These don't have factory cases, but there are homemade cases that are included if you want. Each case holds two horns. http://www.chopsinc.com/files/horns_for_sale/1contra.pdf http://www.chopsinc.com/files/horns_for_sale/2contra.pdf http://www.chopsinc.com/files/horns_for_sale/3contra.pdf (The contra with the cracked casing does not yet have a photo/fact sheet) 7 5 King K80 Euphoniums, 2-valve, listed at $300 a piece. http://www.chopsinc.com/files/horns_for_sale/4euph.pdf http://www.chopsinc.com/files/horns_for_sale/5euph.pdf http://www.chopsinc.com/files/horns_for_sale/8euph.pdf http://www.chopsinc.com/files/horns_for_sale/9euph.pdf http://www.chopsinc.com/files/horns_for_sale/10euph.pdf 3 Dynasty Baritones, 2-valve, listed at $250 a piece. http://www.chopsinc.com/files/horns_for_sale/11bari2.pdf http://www.chopsinc.com/files/horns_for_sale/12bari2.pdf http://www.chopsinc.com/files/horns_for_sale/13bari2.pdf 4 Dynasty Baritones, 3-valve, listed at $400 a piece. These were purchased new in 2001. All sold! 5 1 Getzen Titleist Mellphone, 3-valve, $200 due to amount of finish stripped off of it. It's in a soft-sided "gig bag" case. http://www.chopsinc.com/files/horns_for_sale/19mello.pdf 6 Dynasty Sopranos, 3-valve, listed at $200 a piece All sold! If any group is willing to purchase the line as a whole, we are willing to work out a deal. Prices do not include shipping, and if you're near the Minneapolis area pick-ups are available. So many in the past have just gone on to say we have these horns for sale and call for pricing. I wish you luck with your sale. The prices are very fair. BTW what are your thoughts on the King Marching brass?
CallipygianKing
BTW what are your thoughts on the King Marching brass? I've really liked the Kings, but I may not be the best person to evaluate them. I've only played mellophone since joining Chops, and there's a total of three horns that I've played on. One is the Getzens for sale above, one is an old tight-wrapped Blessing that I borrowed for a college pep band, and the third is the King 1121. Needless to say, having a brand new horn in my hand felt much better than the older ones. One thing that I can say is that I, as a lesser player, have found it much, much easier to find notes on the King than the other horns. I'm guessing that this is the case on the whole line, since having a matched set of new Kings really improved our intonation across the whole line. It's not a matter of our hornline not being able to be in tune with the old Gs, it's a matter of it just being easier. We find our notes faster. But, I haven't really explored other brands, so it could just be a phenomenon attributed to new horns vs. old. Maybe I should pop in to a MN Brass camp and try out their Dynastys and a Govies camp for their Yamahas for a point of reference. Chops Inc.
All four of the 3-valve baritones have been sold. Checking on the origin of the euphoniums. They're either from Star or the Cavaliers. Edited February 25, 2010 by Chops Inc.

Chops Inc.
Low brass instruments going out the door... We have 24 of these remaining, though! Perfect for those marching alumni corps or DCA corps that require members to find their own instruments.
