AustinStarsPAA
A SUPER EARLY Reminder about the Texas Drum Corps Preview! Last year's FREE standstill performance drew a crowd in excess of 1000 people- our largest crowd to date! Seven drum corps (DCI, DCA, and unaffiliated corps) from the state of Texas were represented, and the fans had a great time! This year promises to be bigger and better, and once again FREE! A final date has not been set, but put this on your radar! Location: Steps of the Texas State Capitol Austin, TX Date: a Saturday in June... Cost: FREE (bring $ to buy corps merchandise, etc!) BlooContraGuy
After I age out, I will definitely be going down to see this. Please keep doing this for years to come!
AustinStarsPAA
We are currently in discussions with all the TX corps, and a few from other states(!), who have expressed interest in participating. We should have final word on a date sometime in late February or early March.
PocaFocus
Not to stir the pot; I enjoy all drum corps. Why are their other competing units coming to the "Texas drum corps preview?" Just a general question.
CSGreen
Because there aren't enough free drum corps events in the world, and none as cool as the TXDCP ;) lol
Shadow_7
Because we have an airport. Because large stone buildings make percussion sound even louder. (with or without amps) Because we get free security, to include police helicopters. Because Austin is a central place for all Texas corps to meet. Because everyones 10-12 minute shows last 20. Making it one of the longest non-regional / non-championship drumcorps shows on the planet. And IT'S FREE. (for Brent) Because there's a Starbucks less than a block away. AustinStarsPAA
Because, why should we limit it? If drum corps are willing to come perform, we're willing to give them the stage! TENTATIVE DATE: Saturday, June 19th Time TBA Corps Definitely in attendance: Crossmen Forte Gulf Coast Sound Revolution Vigilantes World Gone Mad We always welcome new corps to be a part of this FREE celebration of drum corps! :-)

That Starbucks was very refreshing after a long ST in the San Antonio... and after standing still in uniform holding up a euph for 20 minutes.
