Man, you should know where my heart lies, but I voted for Alliance on this one too. that was an incredible production, and every one of their members on the field knew it, believed it, and expressed it.

I agree completely! Thoroughly enjoyable. The "dark" thought that went into the show concept made them my pick.

But I almost changed my mind and picked Alliance from last year. I thought they should have been 1 or even 2 positions higher with the caliber of their show. But I also thought it was very close to a DCI show, written for the judges not the fans and this turned me away a little. No offense to any of the staff, but it actually scared me a little to think DCA would start to look like this soon.

I can certainly see why Alliance could be branded as too DCI-ish, but I thought their show was very entertaining. Of course to me, entertaining does not have to be toe-tapping. The fact that they performed at such a high level was enough entertainment for me. I agree that it would get very boring if every corps tried to be like Alliance, but I think the fact that DCA has something for everyone now makes it much more marketable to the general public. In my opinion, Alliance is impressive for more things than just screaming trumpets - which I feel many corps dip into that well too often.
