What's New?

CONTINUED PROGRESS....

The Brigadiers' Executive Board and Committee met for a marathon session last weekend to clarify issues that have begged for resolution for months and sometimes years. With remarkable clarity and few disagreements, the Board went to work on issues from organizational roles, functional units, and internal controls to performance, finance, and our vision.

Hasn't it always been "money and members" as ever present challenges for all corps? We plan to return to the field when we're ready in both areas. But, there is a direction of play. First, raising money, then raising members.

Many exciting details to follow folks! Stay tuned to the Red Team!

MORE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR (FUN)DRAISING EVENT!!!

This weekend we have a (fun)draising event at Watkins Glen International Speedway. The Brigadiers will be running a concession stand at the speedway for the Indy Car Race and Qualifications and will earn a nice donation from the track for doing so. We're asking for a few more volunteers to join us in this effort. But, be sure to bring your earplugs because last year the stand was about ten yards from the track!! This is a chance to hang with some dedicated Brigadiers.

If you're a race fan and a :tongue::ph34r::worthy:BrigsFan, it's too good!!!

Volunteers just need to be 18 years old. Some of us are planning to camp there the whole weekend from Friday night on. The volunteering shifts run from 9A -6P on Saturday and Sunday, July 3rd and 4th. One or both days' shifts can be requested, but we request that you call Mike Brooker at 315.450.4545 or write him at mbrooker59@yahoo.com to request your shifts and camping requirements. Mike has to register you with the track as soon as possible.

Come and join us!!

I can vouch for the OCC WGI percussion ensemble as my son and a few other former students participated. The show and performance quality were first rate and all had a great time. Thanks Brigs!

Wouldn't you know it?

Our Saturday volunteer shift at the Watkins Glen International Speedway is nearly full, but the Sunday, July 4th shift is lacking bodies.

Thank you to :sad::wub: :wub: everyone who has volunteered for us so far!!!

The Sunday shift is the bigger, race-day shift so we're looking for a few good Race-Fan-men-and-women to volunteer for us on Sunday. It will help the :wub: :wub: :wub:Brigadiers immeasurably if you can come out from 9A-6P. Contact Mike Brooker asap at mbrooker59@yahoo.com or 315.450.4545. The speedway just needs your full name and DOB to be sure you're 18 years old.

Thanks again!!
