Mellofello01 Posted July 14, 2010 Share Posted July 14, 2010 My son is marching with SCV and he said it has been literal hell in Kansas. Not only is it over 100 degrees and extremely humid but they have all been eaten by mosquitos - one kid counted 100 bites on his legs alone. Apparently their housing site was next to a "swamp" and at dusk all hell broke loose with the mosquitos. They had to evacuate the housing site and luckily were allowed to go to the show site to practice! He said a lot of kids woke up this morning with their eyes swollen shut. Apparently it was a suck fest last night while they slept. How do people survive in places like this in the summer months?! I think they sell Off by the gallon around there.
