Bruckner8
Parts are written in F - same as Horn. BTW - Congrats on your teaching gig, Bob!! So "High F,G,A" are played OPEN? The 8th partial would be that F (concert Bb)...like the Bb side of the double horn. (Which is what you said, lol). I just never imagined a part written in a DIFFERENT transposed key than than the instrument already is! (Bb Horn playing an F part! Makes sense ONLY to Horn players! Thanks...I'm very excited about this new opportunity!

Yeah I've been playing my marching Bb like this for over a year - there are still tuning issues- but i play it while I'm watching TV or sitting browsing the internet. it's my "practice" horn when I am not actually sitting down and practicing Horn. BrassClef
So this is a teaser pic - I'm currently in the process of ordering brass rod and tracking down the rest of the parts I need for this, but this is why I enjoy what I'm going to school for. I get to play with, fix and construct instruments all day :) Edited October 27, 2011 by BrassClef
