NanciD
There must be some of you talented people out there that can rewrite these lyics to fit... "Drum Corps State of Mind" C'mon, show us your creativity! This could be fun, no? Here are the originals Billy Joel version: New York State of mind Some folks like to get away, Take a holiday from the neighborhood. Hop a flight to Miami Beach or to Hollywood. But I'm takin' a Greyhound on the Hudson River line. I'm in a New York state of mind. I've seen all the movie stars in their fancy cars and their limousines. Been high in the Rockies under the evergreens. I know what I'm needin', and I don't want to waste more time. I'm in a New York state of mind. It was so easy livin' day by day Out of touch with the rhythm and blues But now I need a little give and take The New York Times, the Daily News. It comes down to reality, and its fine with me cause I've let it slide. I don't care if it's Chinatown or on Riverside. I don't have any reasons. I left them all behind. Take a trip, to the Jersey Shore or to Hersheypark But I'm takin' that Greyhound with the drummers and horn line. I'm in a drum corps state of mind. ajlisko
Lisko comes to mind immediately... Bet, he'll have fun with this! ... not exactly what you were looking for ... but just the way I'm feelin' ... Some folks like to forget, Treat this Holiday like all the rest. I prefer to march in a parade, To honor those I thought the best. I'm in a Memorial Day state of mind. I've known them all from WWII to Viet Nam, And gladly shook each hand. They sang their song and drank their beer, And all I could do was acknowledge their fear. I was in the midst of heroes, Searching for answers I could never find ... I'm in a Memorial Day state of mind.
