mummdrum
Here comes that part of the show, the pit feature. Time for the big visuals on the field. But how often does it happen, you hear something so different that you find yourself watching the percussionists instead of what's on the field. For me it was always the Vanguard Percussion Feature of '84. The Crossmen had a warmup back in '08 of the Beatles Across The Universe that was wonderful if you ever had a chance to hear it. I must say the pit break of Crown this year is becoming a favorite. Not about how many notes, just something that makes you take notice. What are some other favorite pit moments out there? Yep, I have always LOVED that feature. The fact that they did such an understated "drum solo" in the days of big lines parking on the 50 and throwing down... it was great. 2000 BD, anyone? I don't even remember seeing a corps on the field during that amazing pit feature. And THIS was the first example that came to mind to answer the question. The accelerando was simply amazing.
