Al Chez is well-known for playing trumpet over 25 years on “Late Night” (NBC) and “The Late Show with David Letterman” (CBS).  He is the second-longest network TV trumpet player after Doc Severinsen, with over 2,800 shows.

He toured with Tower of Power, Bon Jovi, Robert Cray, Young Rascals, Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Maynard Ferguson, Eric Clapton, Dave Edmunds Band, Ben E King, Sam & Dave, among others.  Forming his own band in 2008, he continues touring as well as giving back to students through band and drum corps clinics.

The recently-released CD, “Chapter One: Reinvented,” features his own take on classic rock and standard tunes, as well as his first original song, For Your Love.

The concert is part of a two-day celebration and fund-raising weekend for the 80th anniversary of the Madison Scouts Drum & Bugle Corps (1938-2018).  The Saturday events will include an afternoon business meeting of Forward Performing Arts, Inc., followed by a silent auction, reception and banquet, all held at the Concourse Hotel in downtown Madison.  Tickets for the banquet will be available later this summer.

Rooms at the Concourse Hotel can now be reserved ($165 + tax), mention Madison Scouts Drum & Bugle Corps block, Concourse Hotel, 1 West Dayton Street, Madison, WI 53703 -- reservations direct 608-257-6000,
