drum corps INTERNATIONAL

Just to give you an idea also, the Japanese who take part in DCI activities now seem to also be residing here as they aquire a student visa to attend an ESL institute, then take a legal leave (after at least 3 consecutive semesters of school) to participate in the drum corps activity over the summer.

With a discussion with Yamato's director last year, I think we are trying to figure out a way to get potential members who want to march consecutive years with our corps (or us and others) to fill out and hand in an application to a local Extension Center and have them begin school in the summer before they decide to march so they can take a leave the following summer without giving up their student visa.

That and also helping them to achieve a TOEFL score to allow them to transfer out of the extension center and into either the local university or community college within their 1st 2 semesters so that the 3 semester limit isn't applied to them.

But whatever happens, it is still pretty expensive for the Japanese to participate on an annual basis. It would be great to see corps from around the world participate in Drum Corps INTERNATIONAL.

It would be great to see some "international" corps competing in DCI. Still, I don't think there will ever make Division I.

It 's some kinda problem here in Europe. People underestimate Division II&III or DCA and think it's "low" to perform there.

But mostly, these corps kick their ### on the field!
