Pittman
Just a question.... Do you guys think that the hornline should get the free stuff like the drumline gets? It used to fire me up when the boxes of friggin Pearl shirts, Vic Firth Shirts, Zildjian/Sabian shirts, Sticker, sticks, drum pads, and whatever the #### else would come in.... and the hornline would be scrounging for valve oil. just wondering about the consesus, i mean, dang... can't a brotha get some free gloves or a shirt???? decompressed
I feel your pain....brass staff members feel the same way too! I remember when I was teaching Spirit in 1998, the drum staff all got these cool Premier Hockey Jerseys and all we got was this dorky Dynasty baseball cap....it wasn't even a real cap, it was one of those 1970s mesh caps that were twice as wide as your head! The real reason being that drum equipment, sticks, heads, etc are all purchasable by members and their respective band programs for big bucks, whereas brass players usually have their own type of horn that they bought individually....so it really is a matter of market and economics i think. hiccups05
yeah but still...Brass should get something...
drumstix909
T-shirts at least....the drumline gets T-shirts, and those aren't items that they are going to buy for their instrument or anything like that.
cheezedogg 23
At least in corps format, most corps sport one brand of horns, so why couldn't they like get nice shirts at least, i'm doubting they'd start giving out Kanstul jackets. etc... lol. though perhaps its an idea for the future? hehe
batmanrenegade
yeah, last year, cause the renegades spent more time near the pit, we were supposed to get Pro Mark shirts, that never happened

Voyager
No kidding. I once got a kanstul pin, but that was about it. Its all about the love, but only for the drummers.
kimelabari
You boys sound like you are whining about free stuff. Let me clear some things up for you. The drum companys endorse drumlines just like brass players. The difference here is what the COMPANY is willing to do. It has nothing to do with you as brass players. If you would like swag from you brass company then I would suggest that your brass staff or corps director seek out a sponsorship with whatever company you use. Dynasty gave our brass players white t-shirts and the drum line black t-shirts 2 years ago. B) Let's face it, it is always nice to get free stuff! I know I do. b**bs Kimela
