  1. Not a good spot for Finals, but the new stadium at the University of Minnesota would be a great spot for a Reginal or some other big show. http://www1.umn.edu/stadium/images_stadium...endering_lg.jpg http://www1.umn.edu/stadium/images_stadium...endering_lg.jpg
  2. It is not a rumor. Chad is no longer with the Blue Stars.
  3. Now that Murphy is in where does that leave Rosander? I have a guess, but I wonder if anyone knows the real deal. http://www.drumcorpsplanet.com/content/view/2481/28/
  4. Several corps have added caption supervisors to their staff, what is the difference? What does a caption supervisor do that a caption head does not? I know what a caption head does, but was is the role of a caption supervisor?
  5. 1997, DCI-AD finals at Hershey Park. We are waiting to go on the field, the rival Crossmen are coming off. We were backed up and inorder for the X-Men to get off the field quickly a show coordinator asked us if we would let them through. That was not going to happen. The man started to get frustrated and asked again. Once again we ignored him and just stood there. He then yelled, "This isn't ####### Boston Crusaders 1975, let them through!!!" We did not. We eventually marched out of the way and then Crossmen were allowed to leave.
  6. I was very very confused by #2 on your list when I saw them in Mankato. I did not understand what they were going for at all, that needs a rewrite big time. I am glad to see that it was not just my memory slipping with the guard work. I don't remember a single flag being spun in the opener.
  7. I forgot to add this. I have always loved Madison, but the BOD and current managment/staff/members/alumni/fans/family/pets are all idiots who frankly should have never been born. Thanks for reminding me. :P
  8. I agree with you 100%. I realize that it is a crime to speak ill of Madison, but the facts are that the product they have right now is not good. The design, especally visually is not good. The drill in the ballad was flat out awful. There were parts of the opener where I was scratching my head because I did not think what I saw lined up at all with what I was hearing. There were a few moments I liked in the closer. I hated Kashmir both musically and visually. The music for the last two tunes has potential, but as long as they are redoing the drill they may as well redo the music for the opener too. I think the old saying about putting lipstick on a pig applys to the show in its current form.
  9. That is not Brent Turner. Brent's last year on Scouts staff was 95. I was teaching a HS band with Brent in 97 and that is not him. He is on tour as we speak with the Scouts though.
  10. I saw Colts a few weeks back and thought almost the exact same thing about end of show. Really loved the show, but the end needs work.
  11. If anyone is thinking about this, go do it!!!! I saw PR last night and they were out of this world. After one viewing it is already one of my top five shows ever. The horn line is outstanding. If only I was 9 years younger.
  12. Is that the Troopers or the Blue Devils? I can't tell since they are both wearing blue tops and dark pants.
  13. Have not seen them, but Pioneer will have new unis. I do know a little about the Blue Stars new uni, but it is very little and I don't want to spoil thier surprise. If what I have heard is true, they will be very cool and not like what anyone else in DCI is wearing. I can't wait to see them in a week.
  14. I guess I will take your advice, but based on the picture they are one of my favorite uniforms. I hated the bell hop look, but I love the new ones. Based on the picture of course.
  15. I have heard rumors that Colts are getting new unis as well. Can any one confirm this?
  16. Maybe it is just be but aside from them both being blue and black I see very few simalarities between BD and Coats unis. I like the new look, love the helmet. So far I would say that Crown and Coats are great, but Madison does not do much for me. Can't wait to see the other new unis.
  17. I like them. One of my favorites already.
  18. Could it be a black helmet with blue flecks in it? Maybe
  19. The drum majors wore helmets just like that in 97. Boy did I ever catch hell for suggesting they looked like they belonged in Phantom.
  20. so, was Pioneer wearing new unis? Descriptions? Pictures?

  23. Lets see what I can remember. Buddha Jesus Candyman Canuck Gopher I am sure there are plenty more, but I can't think if them
  24. I was at the show too and I pretty much agree with everything you said. I would like to add a few things. Blue Stars brass arrangements were wonderful, maybe the best of the night. If they can get some of the staging in the drill worked out and put out some more low brass sound, especally from the 12 contras, they will be exciting as #### to hear come finals week. The drill lacked any real wow moments, although the drum line had some cool stuff in the back doubling timing what the horn line was marching to in the opener. Colts were very impressive. They have been on the right track the past few years. The drill was very solid, but could use some more velocity to go with the music towards the end, but I can't wait to see them again. Madison. I like it, I love Myron's drill. However and I am not exagerating one bit, they had the worst feet I have seen from a division one corps ever, EVER!!!!! I am sure the speed of the drill played some part in it, but there were feet all over the place tempo wise.
