F Tuning Sequence

Brian Puccio

Recommended Posts

I forget the chords. If someone could just tell me the chords, that would be great. I've been away for a few years and forget the chords. I remember one part, I think it's one of the bari lines:

F C A Bb C F

(last F is octave above first F)

But this is far from the whole picture.

the basic melody is 1,5,3, 6,7,8

but the chord structure is:

I + V + III which is a basic I chord by the third measure, then its VI second inversion, VII second inversion, I root position.

...or try 1,5,3, IV, V7(dominant 7), I

Here's a good version of F Tuning, from back in the day.

F-Tuning Sequence - THREE TIMES

----------------------------------------

I-I-I-IV-V- I

The first three chords are actual the building of the F Maj chord.

Sop L---F-C-C-D-F-F

Sop 1---F-C-A-Bb-C-C

Sop 2---F-C-C-D-F-F

Sop 3---F-F-A-F-G-A

Mel 1----F-C-A-Bb-C-C

Mel 2----F-F-A-F-G-A

Bar 1----F-F-A-F-G-A

Bar 2----F-C-A-Bb-C-C

Bar 3----F-C-A-Bb-C-C

Con-----F-F/C-F/C-Bb-C-F

...I also have the minor sequence used in '95.

Could you post the chords/voicings for the minor sequence? I've been trying to find a recording of it forever to hear the voicings but haven't been successful.

Thanks!

I don't have an F minor version, but I have a G minor...(for G Bugles)

2 flats:

Sop 1--G-G-G-G-G-F#-G (all upper G's)

Sop 2--G-D-D-Eb-Eb-D-D (G on Staff)

Sop 3--G-G-Bb-Bb-Bb-C-Bb (G on staff)

Mel 1--G-D-D-Eb-Eb-D-D (G on staff)

Mel 2--G-G-Bb-Bb-Bb-C-Bb (G on staff)

Bar 1--Same as Sop 1

Bar 2--Same as Sop 2

Bar 3--G-G-Bb-Bb-C-A-G (G on staff)

Contra--G-G-Bb-Bb-C-D-G(octave split)
