spcbrass Posted July 12, 2002 Share Posted July 12, 2002 New trumpets again this year. More conical like the soprano. It allows more air to pass through the horn without causing a harsh sound. As far as cadets...they use yamaha, and yamaha makes a great trumpet, which would explain why they have such a great sound on them. Now listen to their low brass, not as pronounced. The devils are using wilson horns, not degs, but wilson is a division of deg. All in all once they lock in their new trumpet they will produce that same great sound they always have. Magic is playing on the same model horns as BD, and for those guys the horns produce a tremdous sound. They may sound a little quiet at times, but it is because they are holding back for the first half of the season to teach teh kids how to play with a great sound. Blaringbrass Posted July 23, 2002 Share Posted July 23, 2002 YEah listen to some of the MP3's that you can get offline especially the newer ones, and the trumpets just have a raw unleashed trumpet sound, pretty similar to the g bugle.
