Any Suggestions? :) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Mello 6V- Blue Devils use to use them,....maybe they still do, very similiar to the Bach 3c mouthpiece. mchromik Posted August 1, 2004 Share Posted August 1, 2004 All of the Star mello lines of days-gone-by played on Benge Mello 6s. They were very consistent and dark. The current Blast! mellos are Yamahas that take a trumpet-shanked piece. I believe it is a 16. This past spring's Star Alumni hornline had a duke's mixture of mello types. A few of us mellos began experimenting with the Curry TF cup. It can be had in a much larger cup diameter then the ol' mello 6. Personally I am using a Kanstul Mello6 (very similar to the Benge/UMI Mello 6) but am also experimenting (and liking) the Curry 3TF. Just my $.02.
