vferrera
As far as I could tell, everyone nailed their parts. Especially Scott Dean (?)from the Blue Devils. That guy is now a permanent member of the Soprano legends of DCI along with the likes of Bonnie Ott, Chris Metzger, Shawn Owens, Jon Schipper, etc. Anyone feel free to jump in with the ones I'm obviously missing. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hunter Moss, Shaun Owens... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Jeff Kievet from Muchachos Great Madison soloists from the 70s-80s: The quartet in Malaguena 78 (Scott Barella, CJ Johnson, Rob Dunham, Scott Beckman). Also Fred Bell (79), Mike Nuccio (malaguena duet), Mike Mosgrove (malaguena duet), Greg Jarosz (They're playing our song), Paul Rowan, Ira Aronson (Strawberry Soup), Rich LaBrizzi (Cats) and of course Shaun Owens. Beckman and Jarosz won individual sop in 78 and 80, resp. And not to mention Perry Smith and Dave Ramthun on bari (Malaguena), and Ray Peery and Kent Eversmeyer on FH (Ice Castles). Sorry if I left anyone out.
Scerpella
That guy is now a permanent member of theSoprano legends of DCI along with the likes of Bonnie Ott, Chris Metzger, Shawn Owens, Jon Schipper, etc. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sorry to nitpick but didn't Bonnie Ott play mellophone? Now, Chris Metzger is STILL #1 on my list. Imagine what he could do with todays horns. Hmmmm wow! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You can hear both Chris Metzger and Jon Schipper in any number of gigs around the Madison area where they teach and perform. Both of them are better than in their junior corps heydays!
Scerpella
I dont know if theyve been mentioned as yet, but the guys who did the sop solos in Bridgemen in 77 and 78 were the best of their time.
