some old corps photos

I realize this question was asked quite a long time ago re: the 2-7 guard inside taped boots and I'm not sure if it was answered yet so I thought while I took a quick look I'd answer it.

The white line inside the boot was supposed to line up with the outside line of the skirt as we moved/marched forward. As well, when we marked time, it was supposed to line up, in both cases giving maybe a longer/taller look. I'll look for some pics where you might be able to see it actually happening.

I hated having to ruin my boots when we went from pants 76 thru 78 back to skirts in 79. It ripped the leather off when putting on new clean tape.

It's been said but here's one more...

Welcome back Nancy!!!

I remember in the late 50's, the Westshoremen were on the Ed Sullivan Show.

There was also a quize show, where a lady was set on a park bench outside and given a list of things to remember

in a short period of time.

when the time started the USMC Drum Corps paraded around the bench the whole time she was supposed to memorise the list of items.

I remember the first Monday Night Football Game in Cleveland with the Marion Cadets as the Half Time Unit.

This was the first time that the announcers talked football all during the half time, not showing the musical units.

That was the end of seeing the Half Time Musical units, unless it had something to do with the sponcers

or you got a glimps over the shoulder of the on field announcer.....
