RobH
St Mary's - BEAUTIFUL!! I have several recordings of 67 BC and THIS is perhaps the single biggest innovation in 60's drum corps drumline history! They sounded great - almost "tuned" if you will, too! Well done! Well done! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks Rob, I was fortunate to watch this drum line at shows and in the parking lots, Amazing! And yes, they actually "tuned" the drums, to the brass line. This was when if you played a Instrument, you carried it, even in parades. More Drumming, less pit please. And how about the tuning now a days? It sounds like their playing on the side walk. The open, lush sound of the sixties? "IMHO" Sounds Better
RobH
St Mary's - you and I of are the same thinking here! Beer's on me if we ever meet! Interesting how the 67 BC's doubles have the bigger, lower pitched drum on the right instead of the left - was the player left handed maybe?????? ptr250
Santa Clara Vanguards first season 1967 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I suspect that pic may be pre-SCV (Sparks) notice the hat. They turned up one side when they became SCV. Also who can pick out SCV's current GM Dan Vanatta!
