Galen
Kadence is pleased to announce their program for the upcoming 2005 summer DCPI season. The show, entitled Inteligencia 813, will feature classical music from the composers of South America, specifically Alberto Ginastera and Heitor Villa-Lobos. The show starts off with Ginastera's somber "The Landworkers" from the Estancia ballet. From there, the mood becomes much darker, as the flaring melodies of "Pampeana no. 3: Impetuosamente" make themselves felt with force and impact. The rowdy "Malambo" showcases the battery and front ensemble to conclude the first half of the program. The show takes a brighter turn with Villa-Lobos' lush and evocative "Bachianas Brasileires #4" before coming to a strong climax with "Finale from Symphony 7", also by Villa-Lobos. Kadence is looking forward to another strong, competitive season this summer and we hope you enjoy the rich sounds of South America!
