At the same time, some DVD players can format the widesceen video to standard TV. The old players shrink the screen size to fit, but the new ones crop the sides. So, I can see widesreen benefitting everyone. Even the HD TV owners. If you have a standard HDTV, then you are still ok. Just another great selling point for the videos.
