Brassop
the crowd, the rush while performing.....that made it all worthwhile don't get me wrong, winning was incredible, but being 10th was just as fun. Gotta agree with Skyliner1 and the other statement. The "rush of performing" in a top tier senior corps (MN Brass '99, '00) while playing upper lead to some serious chop busting charts is an experience I'll not forget. Don't get me wrong, 5th place was incredible, but 4th (just 8 tenths from 2nd!) was even more fun! ^OO^ Parties and hanging...yes! Friendships yes! Competitive excellence ... priceless. For me there is nothing like competing in the DCA night show! Thanks for the venue to bring back some sweet memories Frank (guapo) - Derek Harmon Sept '93-'97 Founding member of Kilties Competitive corps '99, '00 Minnesota Brass Oh the days when whole crowds would ... Scooby15143
For me, it is the thrill of performing. I have been in a Drum Corps, either marching or teaching, for 21 years. And this being my 21st year, returning again to march with Reading Buccaneers, because when you are with a good thing you gotta keep coming back. I plan on marching as long as my knees hold out. Brassop
on that note....my answer....sexy horn players! ^0^ yummy..... best kisses in town. A girlfriend some years ago made mention that she could tell in our kisses that I was playing horn again. Stronger embouchure = serious kissing sessions?.... go figure! Works for me. Tongue placement , grip, corners, moist reds ... apparently these have side benefits as well. :P Edited February 20, 2006 by Brassop
loujaue
The Marching activity is something that lets people excel at what they do best while excepting them for what AND who they are. That is why I am still in it today and that is why I will continue to fight and make sure that everyone can have a place to march when they are old enough or feel they are ready. Be it Marching Band, Sr. Corps, Jr. Corps, or Winterguard, its all a grand form of expression while showing the Human side of creativity. Its one of the best places to be yourself and the only place I have found that excepts you regardless. It is proof that everybody has a place! Its what I do, and I do it VERY well. Govie Goddess
Why I love this crazy Drum Corps Activity: * I love to perform! (guess you could say I am a stage/ field hog) * Great way to relieve stress from the workplace * Friends - able to keep in touch with old and meet new * Allows me to push myself to a higher level of excellence * It's a great weight loss program (gotta hate the off season)
