Newseditor44
Compilation of Scores from July 31st shows: 1 The Cavaliers 94.050 2 Blue Devils 93.550 3 Phantom Regiment 93.400 4 Bluecoats 91.450 5 The Cadets 90.900 6 Santa Clara Vanguard 88.600 7 Boston Crusaders 87.550 7 Carolina Crown 87.550 9 Blue Knights 86.500 10 Madison Scouts 86.000 11 Glassmen 84.800 12 Spirit from JSU 83.550 notes: The Cavaliers - The green Machine is starting to gain some momentum as we head towards Madison. The Machine is in high gear and is looking very tough to beat. Can anyone catch them? Blue Devils - The .025 gap of Saturday suddenly got much larger on Monday, but its too early to panic. The Blue Devils are still in the thick of things, and will be adding more material to their show this week with the hopes of boosting their GE scores. Will it be enough to contend, or should they be more concerned about that the big white "devil" filling up their rear view mirror? Phantom Regiment - Continuing to gain ground on the leaders, now less than point behind the Cavis and within striking distance of BD. The real test will be head to head meetings with the top two. Regiment has two remaining shows with The Cavaliers, but will not see BD until Quarterfinals in Madison. This corps need a few more ounces of GE to have a shot at The Cavaliers. Bluecoats - Looking for something to push them back up with BD and Cavis and PR. Do they have enough to keep pace? Next 5 days will be crucial. None the less, the "war" has been won, and the Bluecoats have established themselves as a legitmate upper tier drum corps. Cadets - Hop's kids can't buy a break. After a score of changes, a much more appealing opening to their production, cutting several lines of dialog, and upswing in scores last week, Cadets are struggling to keep pace with the top tier. The biggest surprise of the night has to be the low scores in brass and drums, almost a full point behind Cavis and BD. Vanguard, Crusaders, Scouts, Crown and Blue Knights - To borrow a line from Steve Rondinaro, its the "Shootout at the OK Coral"! This could be one of the tightest, and most exciting races in recent DCI history. In as little as a week, the sixth place corps could end up 10th, and vice versa. It's anyones ballgame. Hang on to your hats, its about to get fun! Edited August 1, 2006 by Newseditor44
