oldguard
"... the feeling I got passing in review and knowing that I had left it all out on the field, depleted of energy I didn't even know I had..." The above words are not my own. This quote is excerpted from a private message sent to me from an anonymous corps member after performing in the Div II/III Finals last year. [For the record: This was my 100th milestone post.] Edited August 8, 2006 by oldguard
CorpsMom13
I can somewhat relate to that quote. Unfortunately I never marched, but have grown to love this activity through my kids. One of the shows I loved best when my kids started in Div 3 didn't make it to finals. At the end of the show they had left "their all" on the field. Honestly I don't know how they could have gone on if they had made finals - they left it on the field that day. When they circled up after marching off the field, the Corps was in tears, staff was in tears and family members too. It was a very dark, very emotionally draining show using a piece of Holsinger music. That is still one of my favorite shows they have ever done. Winning is nice, but as long as you get "that one show" out then you have done well for the season and can hold your head high.
