Cindy....I know this is OT but I have to ask. I was told either by Riggie Laus or Mike McCoy (they both instructed the TBIRDS back in the mid '60s)from the Pittsburgh Rockets that he also instructed the Rockets and upon arriving at the airport prior to a rehearsal he stood atop the exit stairs of the plane in a business suit.....took both hands...and pulled apart his suit to reveal a giant blue, red, and yellow, SUPERMAN shirt. TRUE? (please don't say NO cause I love this story). :P

If Reggie said it happened then I guess it did. I wasn't there so I couldn't say.

I couldn't tell you how many corps Dad taught. He traveled alot.

My father loved to make people laugh. He was quite the charector.

I guess if I were to pick a moto for my family it would have been,"Never a dull moment".

A huge loss to the trumpet world.....he will be missed. But, what an incredible legacy he leaves behind!!

There is a great tribute video of him on "You Tube" at:

It has some great pics of him & his band, as well as some great music clips.

My absolute favorite is the one of him playing "Danny Boy".....you can just feel the emotion as he plays...."Beautiful".

May he play in God's Great Band Forever!!!!!!
