JohnZ
If you are still at Furman, or live in the vicinity, you already have a carpool option available to you or anyone else wanting to join CorpsVets. As for 'auditioning' for the perc line, everything posted so far is fairly accurate - but I also saw an emphasis on committment. Last year we started out with a huge battery (14+ snares, 6-7 tenors, 8 basses) that was whittled down based not only on the level of talent, but also on consistent attendance. I would expect it to be the same this year. Your hornline options would be very rewarding too. Can't go wrong on either bari or contra - fun bunch of people who worked and played hard. The hornline had an outstanding year, and I expect more of the same from our hornline staff and writer. Watch for details on our open house soon. Sounds like another corps I know. :)
