brassomaniac
Tom, this is very exciting. Sounds like we now have some Albany Evil brewing. ^0^ I will be on board any day now. Things truly are coming together fast, Joe. (I know that you've heard from people who were THERE to see us) No BS or hype (our weekend performance was public proof) - our corps is already jelling and many parts of the show are QUITE GOOD! I've heard from MANY players who seem to be intimidated by the pace of things here, and the level of musicianship required. DON't WORRY! If you can read music, have a reasonable amount of practical playing experience, and have the drive to help us make this thing GREAT; then there is likely a place for you. We have a great bunch of nice people on board, and we'll help you along at a pace you can handle. Several of our members have already surprised themselves as to how much they can REALLY handle! Come on in! We're pushing to get to 25 players ASAP, so that we're ready for our April appearances. brassomaniac
Another nice performance tonite! Played 2 shows at the Columbia County Museum (inside the WARM museum - not out in the awful cold we had tonite), as a part of "Candlelight Night in Kinderhook". Capital Brass! was warmly received and immediately invited back for next year. We also received a similar invitation to return from the Crossgates Mall "Evening of Giving" event, where we debuted the mini-corps last week. On Decenber 29th, we'll finish our 2006 performance year with the National Anthem and a halftime show at the Albany Patroons basketbal game, at the Washington Ave, Armory. Look for pics soon, on the website! Edited December 13, 2006 by brassomaniac
brassomaniac
Shhhh! I'm not supposed to tell you yet, (so I won't), but Capital Brass! will begin appearing in major senior corps events in 2007, beginning in April. I'll release more info as soon as I can. In the meantime, we're looking for a few more good players to begin work on our Spring show, right after the New Year. more info: Capital Brass! We'll continue work on our Spring book; including some great new tunes. I also just picked up a beautiful Yamaha tuba, so we have room for another player!
