brassomaniac
Here's some further clarification from our website: Capital Brass! Performer Openings We have opportunities for players to perform this year with our: Brass Ensemble (performing with 9-12 players) Full Ensemble (performing with 18-28 players) We will be playing many paid gigs, and also a couple of fun events. Although the Brass Ensemble is largely filled, it's expected that there will be occasions where schedule conflicts will create opportunities for some additional players to fill in. And there are still openings to play with our large group. Since we carry extra performers, it is not imperative that you can commit to our entire schedule. But, the more you can do, the more fun you'll have! We are planning to expand our numbers in 2007; with current openings for: 2 trumpet/flugelhorn 2 mellophone 2 baritone 1 tuba 1 percussionist -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mini-corps and Brass Ensemble competition One of our many activities will be to compete in ensemble competitions as both a brass ensemble and a "mini-corps". These groups are limited, by rule, to 10 and 21 performers. These are optional activities, for those who are interested in this aspect of CB! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We are also accepting a limited number of players who would like to participate in just a few special, local performances - with a limited rehearsal commitment. Contact us for more details. Edited February 13, 2007 by brassomaniac
brassomaniac
The big storm coming thru may snow-out one of our two remaining rehearsals before Brooklyn. But, we're ready to go. Some of our newest players won't be making the trip - but they'll be prepared for the next one. NOW .... looking for 2 trumpets and 2 bari's to work on catching up in time for Bridgeport - 3/17 and Harrisburg 4/14! Although the mello and tuba sections are filled out, we have the extra horns to make room for one or two excellent mellophones and one experienced Tuba/contra player. This is a unique opportunity for just a few players to climb on board a great ride, before the spots fill up. brassomaniac
Great rehearsal last night - our best ever! Added our new tuba player. And worked thru our entire show for Bridgeport - with still a month to go. We'll tune up next week for the Brooklyn TEAM event, and then come back home to work in some new players for Bridgeport, and add an additional number to the show for Harrisburg. Still room for a few more players. Edited February 16, 2007 by brassomaniac
