NY Skyliners PR
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE February 11, 2007. The New York Skyliners will dedicate their 2007 season and show, "Murder in Manhattan" to Sean Holton, a life-long Skyliner, who passed away suddenly on Monday, January 29th at the age of forty. Sean Holton was born into the New York Skyliner family. His father, Gerard "Bob" Holton, who has dedicated over 40 years to the Skyliners, was a past Director of the corps and current president of the Board of Trustees. Sean's mother, Carol Holton, is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the New York Skyliners. Sean marched in the Skyliners with his sister, Stacey and brother, Jeff. His long-standing dedication and passion for the New York Skyliners earned him a Lifetime membership in the Skyliners Organization, and in 2001 he was inducted into the World Drum Corps Hall of Fame as an Associate Member. Sean was best known as an accomplished, entertaining and passionate pit performer. He was a member of the 1993 DCA championship I&E pit ensemble, and was Assistant Director for most of the 2000's. Anyone looking on Drum Corps Planet will see how Sean expanded his drum corps family to corps across the country - both DCA and DCI - along with many local bands, and how his passing has touched people around the world. Sean also introduced his wife, Patti, to the world of drum corps and the New York Skyliners. "Sean has been the biggest supporter of the "Murder in Manhattan" show, and the New York Skyliners intend to bring it loud and proud for him. Stand back for the chain reaction . . . this show will be nuclear!" according to N.Y. Skyliner Executive Director, Harry Eldridge, Sr. Go to our website, http://www.nyskyliners.org or contact Harry Eldridge, Sr. at skydirector07@verizon.net for more information. Ultimate_cab_fan
I must say I did expect it. Especially considering he played a major role in this years show and staff selection. I'm sure the New York Skyliners will make him extremely proud in heaven. Good Luck NY. I can't wait to see what you guys and gals do this year. 00Sop
The message board suggests most DCA fans are pulling for Sky. If anyone was on the fence before, this should get them off. Classy move. ^OO^ I did not know know Sean, but the outpouring of sympathy after his passing speaks volumes about his character. MCL extends its best wishes to Sky for a memorable season honoring a brother and friend.
