Shadow_7
I play on the LM-35, which is basically a 1 1/4G. I used a 51D in jr. corps, but it was a euro shank deg. And I've never had to play lead on Euphonium. Now that I have a bass trombone and have gotten used to my Don Harwood piece, I wouldn't mind using that on Euph. Except that using it makes me another 10 to 20 cents flat on a horn that already tends towards flatness with anything bigger than a 5GS. I've also used an LM-20 (roughly equal to a Wick/Mead SM3). Going bigger takes a bit more time to adjust to, but it is much nicer not to have to work so hard to play loud and/or low. Especially since modern arrangements tend to go below F below tuning C, and quite often.
