sophillycab
For Immediate Release: February 21, 2007 Update on the 2007 Caballeros European Tour Due to the rising costs of airfare, the Hawthorne Caballeros have cancelled the 2007 plans to tour Europe. Hopefully, the economical situation may be more favorable if the opportunity becomes available in the future. Frank Gerris, President and General Manager of the Hawthorne Caballeros worked closely with our sponsors and comments that “it is unfortunate that the economics of a trip to Europe for the Caballeros will just not work in these challenging times. This is a great opportunity for the Caballeros and we appreciate all the support of the European sponsors, Caballeros membership and administrative staff”. The Hawthorne Caballeros are excited about the competitive season and look forward to entertaining all our fans in the United States with our 2007 presentation of Carmen! For information about the Caballeros, visit our website: www.cabs.org. For additional information on this press release contact: Marianne Kerr, Media and Marketing Manager, Hawthorne Caballeros, Marianne658@yahoo.com. kusankusho
Sorry to hear that - but it means - more Cabs shows for us to enjoy! Edited February 21, 2007 by kusankusho
Bond624
Yeah that is a bummer that we are not going to Europe :( , but you know Europe was just a bonus to what is the begining to a really good season. We are having a fun :) time getting this show ready and everyone is excited to get it out on the field. Hey since we are not going maybe some were thinking it would be too expensive to march with us well I guess that has changed and we have one of the lowest dues in DCA with other ways to work that off. So if you were thinking hmmm maybe, Well come on down we still have spots open. Either way See you on the

Cabsleadbari79
Europe would have been fun but I would have missed Bridgeport and the Barnum Festival. Chris you are right, we have already received some calls from people who could not make the trip but now can do the season. We need a few more trumpets to fill out the line. Next Camp March 10th and you can see the 2007 Caballeros in Kingston NY March 11th for the Kingston St Patrick day Parade. :mmm:
faramirtook
This show is really fun. I'm enjoying this year's music a whole lot, as it is a very very cool interpretation of Carmen, with some very interesting twists. Some that you would never expect. DRCman
I just don't understand how you let something like that fall through...
Cabstuba04
It wasn't from lack of effort... The price just went too high to travel...
Tom D'Bomb
It isn't fair to be critical of the Cabs for not being able to do this. Traveling to Europe isn't easy for a drum corps. If it was, more corps would do it. I think the next big thing for DCA would be for about 4 or 5 of the top NE corps to travel out to Northern California for a weekend.
