Mark Time
The Austin Stars Drum & Bugle Corps of Austin, Texas are proud to announce their first sponsorship from V.F.W. Post 8787. Commander Gordon Purcell and members of the post were thrilled to hear that a new corps had been founded in their back yard. The corps will be able to have rehearsals in the V.F.W. hall and on the surrounding grounds located just off of Interstate 35 between Braker Ln. and Parmer Ln. in north Austin. The Austin Stars will proudly represent the 8787 and look forward to a lasting bond with the kind people of the V.F.W. The Austin Stars are the first ever all-age drum & bugle corps in central Texas. Membership is open to all adults age 18 and up with prior experience in drum corps, marching band, winter guard or winter percussion. For the summer of 2007, the organization has formed a brass ensemble that will perform locally and in the state of Texas. The drum & bugle corps will take the field in 2008 and participate in national DCA competitions. For more information, visit the corps website www.austinstars.org. 00Sop
Very, very nice. Congratulations. Brent has figured it out. To build a drum corps you need a lot of smart, hard working people and a good dose of luck. Sounds like things are clicking in Austin.
