I've put together 6 of the top 10 DCA Corps for this show, and 3 Alumni in exhibition, here's the show; BUCCANEERS, BRIGADIERS, BUSHWACKERS, CORPS VETS, EMPIRE STATESMEN and HURRICANES. We are still talking to Hawthorne. For exhibition we have THE PARK CITY PRIDE, CONN. ALUMNI and the CABALLEROS ALUMNI. The awards are five-$500.00 Gift Certificates. One for best Drum Major, best Drum line, best Horn Line, best Color Guard best M&M and a 4' high 1st place trophy that has to be won 3 consecutive times to keep it. We will also have exhibitions by the Pal Buccaneers and the Buglers Hall of Fame. Ticket Prices will be $17.00 for advance sales and $20.00 at the gate. There will also be an after party at the Holiday Inn in Bridgeport. Everyone is welcome. Now go out and tell your Drum Corps family and friends. This is a show they will not want to miss. standy
Jim H., Bridgeport was severly criticized in this forum the past couple years, and rightly so. The 2004 DCA show event sucked because the corps weren't prepared to compete. It was horrible. Then in 2005 AND 2006, those in charge turned to Alumni and historical groups in hopes of reviving the Barnum but the fan base had already walked away. With the announcement of the 2007 show and the caliber of the corps lined up, the Barnum is returning to it's glory days. BRIGS, BUSH, BUCS, CORPS VETS, STATESMEN and HURCS rightously restores the Barnum to it's place in drum corps history. I am hoping that the committee is successful in it's pursuit of the CABS. When you add in the great exhibition programs of PARK CITY PRIDE, HAWTHORNE ALUMNI and CONN. ALUMNI, plus a performance by the Buglers Hall of Fame and the Bridgeport start-up junior corps, the PAL Buccaneers. Thats just heaven. Good job to you and your committee. It looks like I'll be making that long drive to Bridgeport once again.
