MetalTones2012
Hey guys, I'm preparing a research proposal for one of my geography classes (which I will actually complete in my senior seminar) and I decided to do it on the origin & diffusion of drum corps. The problem is, I'm not really sure where to start gathering sources for the diffusion part since there are literally none on this topic. Does anyone (especially the older crowd in this group) know of any drum corps historians, founders, etc. that might be able to help and provide interviews? BigW
I did a small paper on this about 6-7 years ago on a related topic. The activity started post-WW One through Legion and VFW posts that had access to large stockpiles of War Surplus instruments- and used them as a way to sponsor both veteran and youth groups. Hopefully, that gives you a bit of a start. Tom can certainly help you, I know there may be a few others to contact as well. Good luck on the project.
