msmello Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 Mempho is still in everydays working on their show "Awakenings". I've heard they're working REALLY hard and are still looking for some brass players. Theyre just trying to get the show on he field right now and after that, you'll see amazing stuff...They dont start tour till July 20th Quote
Nex Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 Indeed, there are still some brass openings. You'll have a lot of catching up to do, but it'll definitely be worth it. Quote
CasualFan Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 Is it just me or did Memphis totally rip off their opening from '07 Troopers opening? I am not a music expert but it sure sounded the same. Quote
gottalovit Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 I hope all is going well, I have always enjoyed their shows. I was kind of disappointed when I heard they had cancelled out of the Dubuque show. Anyone have any information on why they didn't attend that show? Good luck the Memphis Sound during finals week!!! Quote
Jtdallas Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 No it was not a rip off of Troopers 07. In fact...I don't think any of the design staff even was aware of Troopers 07. Memphis cancelled out of Dubuque and Chippewa Falls because of the cost of fuel to go from Birmingham all the way up there for 2 shows and then turn around and have to come right back. It was a decision made to help keep the corps financially sound going into finals week. Quote

I got a chance to see them very early in the year and then again recently... they have improved at a rate that I've never imagined possible in this activity. Wow! Great job kids! Quote
