I think Ken is correct....it was either '64 or '65 (that was the year we got the kids from Vasella)......if you look at the pic of Barnum....and you look to the left and behin the bass drum, you may see the top of me hat 'cause I was still short then and as you look at the uni, it was a full draped blouse zipered at the neck, with black epaulettes and black mandarin collar....the red, green and black vertical stripes were on the right side.....it looked like the Sons of Italy, but what a bunch of good men......proud to have been there Guido -

I still have some photos of that '63 show.......what a pleasure to participate and entertain the crowd......always appreciative ....then when I was staff with BR just watching the corps on the field from a high vantage......and in '78 putting on the 'Nostalgia' show with Archie's alumni signalling another innovation....still get choked up listening to a sideline tape with many of our former competitors making comment on the homage being paid to those great corps...one of my fondest memories Guido -

Ken, remember that the OTL was 'By Love Possessed" and in 'Band of America' the entire sop line triple tongued the obligato......oh and the out of concert was 'More and More Amore', popularized by that trumpet player Al Alberts.....or sumptin' Guido -

Thanks for remembering 2B.......see that you're a re-enactor, but I don't remember you from the original Civil War......remember we put it all together in 1975 for the parade in '76 and it kept going......dream in '78 was one of the greatest moments history (IMHO, then came the 3 year resurrection, after which another phoenix....what great stage shows from '88 thru '95 and continuing today........ what Ray ommitted was that you can bring anyone to this show......especially old guys with gray hair who look like Bucky and invite them all to the Buy Bucky a Beer booth..well some body needed to say it and inasmuch I am unable to attend or partake it's gonna be up the the drum corps community to be there.............. -
