Politics!? Oh please... As I said before, I just watched the show after I came home from seeing the movie, it sparked my mind, and I decided to open this can of worms. Please don't think I'm like some of the other people in this thread, I just wanted to discuss and see what other people thought of the match up betweem PR anc SCV

I think this is just a case of people liking what they're most used to. While I don't always think fast is best, I find alot of older drill way too..slow. It doesn't seem to go anywhere. Of course, things started changing 83 and on, but before that, eh. Good shows though. Symmetry is almost just retro now, but that's just my opinion. I know I'm probably not the most "in the know".

Umm, because they've been done already? And almost perfectly as a matter of fact. Phantom did New World Symphony pretty well the first time, and they did pretty much the whole thing, where else would they have to go with it? SCV doing Phantom of the Opera again could work, because it's a 3 hour show, that's ALOT of music.

Well, they chose perfect music to evoke those kinds of feelings. EDIT: Oh yeah, I forgot about Phantom's percussion section, doh >.<

And the thing is, SCV won by 4 TENTHS! It wasn't a 0.1 steal, but 4!

After seeing Phantom Of The Opera in the theatres the other day, it prompted me to watch SCV 89 again, and after watching this, and then seeing Phantom's show from that year, I don't understand how SCV won. SCV 89 is probably one of my favorite shows (gotta love the company front of Music Of The Night), and I love Santa Clara, I hope to at least try out for the corps, but it seems clear that Phantom should've won, and I know many others agree. Santa Clara alot of problems just musically (I can't help but notice all of the fracked notes which actually ruined musical moments).

Since when? 02 - Cavies, they cut out the ballad 03 - Blue Devils....they cut out the ballad 04 - They cut out some little parts, none that I noticed much.

It sounds like a cluster to a power chord (I-V). I don't what notes, but I'm sure it's that.
